TSHS History

TSHS's journey began as a Special Science class in Signal Village National High School, catering to the academic needs of promising students. Thanks to the vision of City Mayor Hon. Sigfrido R. Tiñga and collaboration with the Department of Education, TSHS officially emerged on November 10, 2003, with the enactment of Ordinance No. 104, s. 2003.

In June 2002, Taguig Science, initially a Special Science class accommodating 35 students per section, operated within Signal Village National High School. Over subsequent months, a series of administrative steps, including the approval of a resolution endorsing the establishment of Taguig Science High School, culminated in its official founding on September 15, 2004, marking a milestone as the city's first high school specializing in Science, Math, and English curriculum.

Since its inception, the school has seen remarkable growth, expanding its facilities and curriculum offerings, including the introduction of Senior High School tracks in Science and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Accountancy and Business Management (ABM).

TSHS Campus

TSHS's main campus, situated along M.L. Quezon Avenue in Barangay San Miguel, provides a conducive environment for learning and growth. Additionally, an annex campus integrated with the Hagonoy Sports Complex in Barangay Hagonoy supplements its facilities, ensuring students have access to diverse resources.

Expansion

Over the years, TSHS has expanded its offerings. In June 2016, it opened its main campus for Grade 7 and 10 students, along with Senior High School classes. With a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) tracks, TSHS prepares students for various career paths.

Achievements

TSHS has carved a niche for itself in academic competitions and achievements. Notably, it secured the second runner-up position in the 2022 Tagisang Robotics competition organized by the Department of Science and Technology, showcasing its commitment to excellence beyond the classroom.

Challenges

Like any institution, TSHS has faced challenges. In 2020, it found itself embroiled in controversy due to reports of sexual harassment, sparking widespread concern and calls for action. However, the school administration's swift response, including the formation of an investigative committee, underscores its commitment to ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Future Outlook

As TSHS continues to evolve, its commitment to nurturing young minds remains unwavering. With a focus on academic rigor, innovation, and student well-being, it strives to equip its graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
