The City of Taguig officially launched the fourth year of its spectacular holiday attraction, “Christmas by the Lake,” on Saturday, November 30, with the grand opening of the Taguig Lakeshore Carnival.
Located at TLC Park in Barangay Lower Bicutan, the lakeside venue transformed into a vibrant, carnival-themed wonderland, drawing excited residents and visitors alike to kick off the festive season.
A Message of Childlike Faith and Hope
Mayor Lani Cayetano led the ceremonial lighting of the towering Christmas centerpiece tree and the illumination of the holiday village. Joined by city officials and community leaders, the Mayor emphasized the spiritual theme of this year's celebration, centered on childlike faith.
Before the countdown, Mayor Cayetano cited the Bible verse Matthew 18:3: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.”
She explained that children embody a "solid" foundation of faith and hope, daring to dream big and believe in the seemingly impossible.
"Sikapin natin sa araw-araw ang puso ng bata ay sumaatin," she said, encouraging everyone to embrace the same joy and openness throughout the Christmas season.
A Place Built Out of Love
Mayor Cayetano described the park as a place “built out of love — pag-ibig para sa lahat, pero natatangi para sa mga kabataan.” The free public venue aims to provide families with a communal space to celebrate together. She also extended a warm welcome to guests from neighboring cities, noting that the park is open to everyone.
The Mayor concluded with a blessing: “To all of you, welcome and God bless us all. Sama-sama po nating i-welcome ang Kapaskuhan nang may pasasalamat sa Panginoon. Pagpalain ng Panginoon ang Probinsyudad ng Taguig.”
