It's an early Christmas for Taguigenos! The distribution of claim stubs for the city's annual Pamaskong Handog program has officially begun. This cherished tradition, which embodies the spirit of giving in the city, has brought palpable excitement to residents preparing for the holiday season.

The Pamaskong Handog (Christmas Gift) is a much-anticipated annual program organized by the local government of Taguig City. It involves distributing extensive grocery or Noche Buena packages to every Taguig resident family.

Celebrated and given to Taguigenos annually in December—the heart of the Christmas season—the program ensures that every household has essential goods to prepare a bountiful table, particularly for the traditional Noche Buena (Christmas Eve Feast). This initiative has become a foundational part of the city’s holiday observance, promoting unity and ensuring that no family is left behind during the festive time of year.

While claim stubs and tickets for the Pamaskong Handog are typically distributed in November for December claim dates, this year saw the process begin as early as October. This advance distribution reflects the local government's proactive efforts to organize and prepare for the year's most important celebration well ahead of schedule, ensuring a smoother and more efficient claiming process for all residents.

Every family in Taguig receives a large package containing essential items for their Noche Buena and other household needs. Based on the generous contents of the Pamaskong Handog from last year, the package typically ensures a complete meal spread.

Recipients can expect to receive a significant supply of 10 kilos of rice, alongside the key ingredients for a festive spaghetti, including 1kg of Spaghetti Pasta and Sauce. For their Noche Buena desserts, the package usually provides one box of Eden Cheese, one Kremdensada (cream), and one can of Fruit Cocktail. In terms of canned goods, the contents are substantial, often featuring two big-sized cans of Argentina Corned Beef and three cans of Argentina Meat Loaf. To complete the haul, the families also receive pantry staples and treats like one pack of The Original Hotcake Mix and one pack of Oreo cookies, all packed neatly into a reusable sack and container.

With the early start to the claim stub distribution, the Christmas spirit is already beginning to flourish in Taguig City, signifying hope and community solidarity.
