The Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange (TITX), originally conceived as the South Integrated Transport System (ITS-South), is a proposed intermodal transport terminal set to be located in Arca South, Taguig City.

Envisioned as a vital hub for commuter buses traveling to and from Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the TITX will play a crucial role in enhancing transportation connectivity within Metro Manila and beyond.

Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange (TITX)

The idea for the TITX began to take shape in August 2014 when five companies expressed interest in a public-private partnership project aimed at establishing an integrated transport terminal in the FTI area.

These companies were given until October 2014 to submit their bids for financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the proposed terminal. In January 2016, it was announced that Ayala Land emerged as the winning bidder, securing the project in November 2015.

Construction

Originally slated to commence construction in September 2016, the groundbreaking ceremony for the TITX was eventually held in January 2018. With an estimated budget of at least ₱5.20 billion, the terminal was expected to become operational by 2020. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the temporary suspension of pre-construction activities, delaying the project's timeline.

Despite the setbacks caused by the pandemic, the TITX remains a crucial component of Metro Manila's transport infrastructure development plans. Once completed, it will not only serve as a key interchange for buses but will also be seamlessly connected to the FTI station and the under-construction Metro Manila Subway, further enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of the region's transportation network.

As the country continues to navigate through the challenges posed by the pandemic, efforts to resume and expedite the construction of the TITX will be essential in realizing its potential to facilitate convenient, safe, and sustainable travel for commuters across the Greater Manila Area and beyond.
