More than 3,000 beneficiaries received cash assistance worth P3,000 each!
With the assistance of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the City of Taguig efficiently disbursed financial aid to sari-sari store owners residing in Districts 1 and 2 on September 20 and 21 at the Mercado del Lago in Barangay Lower Bicutan.
The TaPat Sari-sari Store Program, a brainchild of Mayor Lani Cayetano and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano during their tenure as Taguig 2nd District Representative and Speaker of the House, is designed to cater to the needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
"We recognize sari-sari store owners as invaluable partners of the Taguig City Government in community development. Everything we do is in line with our vision for Taguig, the TLC - Transformative, Lively, and Caring city, which is the hallmark of our administration. We do all of this for the greater glory of God," emphasized Mayor Lani.
The distribution saw more than 1,700 beneficiaries from District 1 and 1,551 from District 2 receiving cash assistance of P3,000 each. This financial aid will enable them to support their families and meet various business-related needs effectively.
Mayor Lani also expressed her deep appreciation to Senators Pia and Alan Peter Cayetano for their unwavering support of the city's programs. Their assistance has turned initiatives like the TaPat Sari-sari Store Program into a reality.
"I am grateful for the continued support of our two senators, Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano. We are fortunate that when I approach them, even though their jurisdiction covers the entire Philippines, they never hesitate to extend their support, especially when they know that the sectors I represent are productive," she added.
