With great pride, the City of Taguig celebrates the remarkable achievements of 849 graduates from the Class of 2023 of Taguig City University (TCU). These graduates have successfully earned their degrees and received their well-deserved diplomas during the second day of TCU's 17th Commencement Exercises at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, on August 15th.
The event also saw recognition given to graduates who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments, including those who have excelled in Academic Excellence, Leadership, and Athletic endeavors.
The ceremony was graced by TCU's deans and program chairs, the TCU Board of Regents, and University Officials. Leading the gathering was TCU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jennifer Tolang, 1st District Congressman Ricardo “Ading” Cruz Jr., Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, as well as City Councilors representing both the first and second districts.
Mayor Lani Cayetano graced the occasion to personally convey her sincere greetings to the graduates. In her emotionally resonant speech, she expressed her admiration for their achievements and emphasized that high intelligence and skills must always go hand-in-hand with a good character.
“Today as we celebrate ‘yung kahusayan, katalinuhan, at skills ninyong lahat, I hope that you do realize that the molding of your character and your values is equally as important as your intelligence and your abilities. You will go far, walang duda ‘yon, siguraduhin lang ninyong mabalanse para mas lalong mapabilis ang pagdating ninyo sa inyong mga destinasyon,” said Mayor Lani Cayetano.
Mayor Lani also reiterated her commitment to improving programs that facilitate accessible, high-quality education for the residents of Taguig.
