In-person classes for Kindergarten to Grade 12 in both public and private schools across Taguig City have been suspended for tomorrow, Friday, July 18, 2025.
The local government announced the suspension as a precautionary measure due to the anticipated impact of Tropical Depression “Crising” and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
The #WalangPasok announcement was made today, Thursday, July 17, emphasizing the city's commitment to ensuring the safety of its students and school personnel amidst expected inclement weather. Authorities are forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall, which could lead to flooding in several areas of Taguig City.
Affected students and educators are advised to shift to modular learning for the day, allowing continuity of education despite the weather disturbance.
Tropical Depression Crising, which intensified from a Low Pressure Area on July 16, is the third tropical cyclone to affect the Philippines in 2025 and the second for July. While its direct path may be over other parts of Luzon, its interaction with the Southwest Monsoon is significantly enhancing rainfall across various regions, including Metro Manila.
Local officials urge residents to remain vigilant and monitor official channels for further updates. This class suspension underscores the importance of public safety and preparedness during adverse weather conditions.
