Taguig City has once again demonstrated its robust financial health, securing its position as the fifth wealthiest city in the Philippines according to the Commission on Audit's (COA) 2023 Annual Financial Report on Local Government Units. The city ended 2023 with substantial total assets valued at P51.594 billion.
Maintaining its rank from the previous year, Taguig's consistent performance places it firmly among the top-tier local government units in terms of financial assets. The city's wealth underscores its capacity for public service delivery and its appeal as an urban center.
Taguig's P51.594 billion in assets keeps it in the distinguished company of other financially strong cities within the National Capital Region. It follows closely behind Pasig City, which holds P53.72 billion in assets, and significantly outranks Parañaque City, which, despite a remarkable leap in ranks, finished 2023 with P35.512 billion.
The COA's annual report serves as a critical barometer of LGU fiscal management. Taguig City's sustained presence in the top five highlights effective governance and prudent financial administration, enabling it to continue its developmental projects and deliver essential services to its constituents. This consistent high ranking signals a stable economic environment, contributing to the city's attractiveness for residents and investors alike.
