Taguig City residents are bracing themselves for scorching temperatures as the heat index is forecasted to soar to 44°C today, with an air temperature of 36°C and relative humidity at 52%.

The latest weather report on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, by the TOWER System, paints a picture of persistently hot and humid weather conditions throughout the day. Taguig City is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with isolated thunderstorms bringing chances of rain, lightning, and thunder.

Temperatures are projected to range between 26 and 36 degrees Celsius, but it's the maximum heat index of 44 degrees Celsius that raises concerns for residents' health and safety.

With such extreme heat, authorities are urging everyone to limit outdoor activities and take precautionary measures to combat the heat.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, carry umbrellas for shade, and wear light-colored clothing to minimize the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

Additionally, the wind speed is expected to range from 4 to 15 km/hr, blowing from the southeast.

As Taguigueños navigate through the intense heatwave, staying informed and taking necessary precautions remain paramount to ensure their well-being amidst the scorching conditions.
