History
Initially known as Tenement Elementary School (Annex), the school began operation during the school year 1983-1984, with grades 1-5 transferred from the main school. Mrs. Rosalina V. Vasquez served as the Officer-in-Charge under the supervision of the late Mrs. Melita Lamatao, the principal of the main school.
As enrollment continued to increase, the Annex evolved into a complete elementary school and gained independence from the main school. In 1988-1989, Mrs. Zenaida Peñafuerte became the first principal of the newly established Silangan Elementary School. Successive principals, including Mrs. Marina Evangelista, Mrs. Teresita de Jesus, Mrs. Felisa A. Binuya, Dr. Remedios A. Antonio, Mrs. Francia A. Patron, Dr. Nena P. Monte, Dr. Cipriano M. Bisco Jr., and Dr. Flordelyn T. Umagat, have since led the institution, contributing to its growth and development.

As of the latest update, Silangan Elementary School boasts an enrollment of 5,404 students, including kindergarten, and employs 127 dedicated teachers.
