Hundreds of fuel cards went to those behind the wheels of the country’s “King of the Road”
— and Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano was at the event to witness first-hand the joy on the the faces of Taguig’s very own who received the government subsidy.

Mayor Lani was among the leaders who graced the distribution activity of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board's hallmark “Pantawid Pasada Program” held at Taguig Lakeshore Hall in Barangay Lower Bicutan last November 6, Tuesday. It benefited legitimate public utility jeepney (PUJ) operators and drivers plying the Taguig City and Pateros routes.

Hundreds of PUJ drivers gathered for the probindiyudad leg of the program, which would benefit around 179,000 franchise holders across the country.

During the gathering, the recipients each received a Pantawid Fuel Card containing P5,000 as fuel subsidy for 2018. Each card bears the complete name of the franchise holder, the plate number of the PUJ, the region where the franchise was registered and the card number.

Beneficiaries can avail of the subsidy for fuel purchases in participating petroleum retail outlets or gasoline stations.

Also gracing the event were Taguig City Vice Mayor Ricardo "Ading" Cruz Jr., LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III, DOTr Assistant Secretary Hon. Mark De Leon, HINO Motors Philippines Corporation Chairman Vicente Mills, Jr., Taguig TSC Chairman Freddie P. Hernandez, Councilor Darwin Icay, Councilor Rodil "Tikboy" Marcelino, Councilor Yasser Pangandaman, Councilor Jaime Garcia, Councilor Maria Mher Supan, former Councilor Erwin Manalili, former Councilor Marisse Balina-Eron and former Councilor Jimmy Labampa.

The attendees also witnessed the official turnover of 20 additional units of modern jeepneys to Taguig Transport Service Cooperative; as well as 13 units to Pateros-Fort Bonifacio Transport Service and Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
